This Hive has been a thorn in the side of the Storm's Eye from very early on. Storm's Eye has determined that they will have to be wiped out before a caern can be raised on Mt. Tamalpais. |
ManBane has travelled, over the past two years, to almost every major city in the United States. Surprisingly - given that they are Lupus and Red Talons - they have managed to survive every visit. Their pack Beta believes that he receieves prophetic dreams from the spirits about the Apocalypse. Thanks to his counsel, ManBane believes that the end is at hand, and that the Final Conflict will occur within the next year (2001-2002). They also believe that Man is on the verge of joining forces with the Wyrm, and since this will almost certainly bring the Weaver into direct conflict with the Wyld, they agree that this must be prevented.
And so they travel from city to city, stirring up trouble, enraging the populous against itself, and finally whipping it into an ever more profound fury by way of their Rite of the Enraged Populous. Each time it is performed it's effects are more powerful. After each successful casting, the City Father of the city in question lies stunned and helpless for several days to several weeks thereafter. Now, however, they are starting to realize what is happening, and have even begun talking to each other to put a stop to these fanatic Lupus.
The Black Diamond Mine, located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area, had been the site of a strong Black Spiral Dancer Hive. Most of that hive has since been wiped out, leaving only one pack to continue their fight to thwart the efforts of the Sept of the Storm's Eye, and, more importantly, steal their kin to use as breeding stock. They have few kin of their own, and have taken to kidnapping and impregnating more "normal" kinfolk. They are not above creating Metis - especially if they can corrupt the blood of the other, non-tainted tribes - and have done so on at least one occasion. In that case, the volunteering BSD female was slain shortly before she came to term by members of the local sept.
For now they are largely on the run. The Sept of the Storm's Eye have been hunting them feverishly, since their alpha, Ben, has inspired great ire in them... something about hiding among them for months, discovering their strengths and weaknesses, killing their mated kin... stuff like that. Ben is also in love with one of the younger members of the Storm's Eye, Amber Johnson. Much of what he's done has been in response to this unasked-for infatuation, but it has also lent him strength (True Love merit) in certain circumstances.
