Hello Folks
This may seem an odd place for discussion of
alternative energy, but the founder of the
Black Fleet was very into Pickle and Potato Power.
So it seems to me to be a very fitting place
to open the discussions about what you can do
in your home, office, school, and/or community
to facilitate our transition to
alternative energies.
And I gotta tell ya---I installed my first solar
light on the front porch this week. It works great.
It looks great. It took less than 30 minutes to install. My biggest problem has been to
re-train the other members of the household NOT
to turn on the conventional electric porchlight at night any longer.
Its a small step, but one that our family can do without going to great expense, without getting
building permits, and without inflicting severe
lifestyle changes on the remainder of my housemates.
That's what this place is about. Yes, we want to discuss the bigger stuff, too. But we also want
to hear about thousands of smaller things that can
be done to wean ourselves from the nuclear power plant
and the gasoline nozzle.
Tell us what you know, and have tried.
Tell us what you want to try to do, and what help you
may need to do it.
Share you ideas about how to spread the word on this
subject.
If the subject is alternative energy...go ahead and talk about it.
I will be inviting policy-makers to review the post on this website....so your ideas just might be heard.
