Arlene's Mexican Orange Candy 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. boiling water 2 c. sugar 1 c. evaporated milk 1/8 tsp. salt Grated rind of 1 1/2 oranges Grated rind of 1/2 lemon 4 T. butter 1 c. nut meats
Caramelize 1 cup sugar to light brown. Add water and boil to thick syrup. Add 2 cup sugar milk, and salt. Cook to 242 degrees. Just before candy is done, add the citrus rind. Remove from heat, add butter and nuts. Beat and pour into pan to cool.
