Everyone's favorite book is [Chaos JamesGleick]'s [http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0670811785/qid=1051302172/sr=12-1/102-1288551-5752145?v=glance&s=books].

A nice class with much material: [http://math.sfsu.edu/goetz/Teaching/math490s03/]

this is kinda interesting and has more information than this wiki (though the wiki could outpace it): [http://hypertextbook.com/chaos/]

disorder is not necessary chaos.

Chaos requires three things (arguably the third follows from the first two, but...)

chaos requires three things:

#elements of regularity (periodic points that are dense)

#elements of unpredictibility (sensitive dependance on initial conditions)

#elements of oneness (dense orbits)

chaos is beautifully ordered.

chaotic systems can be visualized. most people by now have seen pictures of at least the MandelbrotSet.
