Chapter 8. Development Environments

In addition to the usual C/C++ toolkit on UNIX systems, we also provide Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, and Erlang development environments. If your favorite isn't here, ask and you may receive.

Developers may set up and use their own CVS repositories, and we support remote SSH checkouts. However, we would recommend using the Subversion repository. This system adds a lot of nice features to CVS, such as atomic file commits, renaming and deleting, and an HTTP-browseable repository. If you want space in the repository, contact the administrator.

If there is anything you want that's missing, for example Perl modules or C libraries, contact the administrator.
